Steve Nordmark / Vice President, Solutions Management and Development

Steve Nordmark is an innovative leader in educational software development and research with over 20 years of experience in corporate consulting and K-12 educational technology. He currently serves as Vice President, Technology & Product Development for netTrekker.

After honing his project management skills as a Consulting Manager with Andersen Consulting, Nordmark dedicated his talents to the development and deployment of powerful learning tools for K-12 education. While receiving his Master's in Education, he served as project coordinator on two research projects studying the effective use of technology in education, presenting findings at the BellSouth TechKNOWLEDGEy '95 Conference.

For over 13 years, Nordmark has managed and led several educational software development projects, including desktop-based, client-server, and online/SaaS solutions. He directs all areas of technology and development, encompassing corporate systems and product solutions. Nordmark spearheaded the next generation re-architecture, design, development, and deployment of the flagship netTrekker product, providing an increased platform for growth, integration and flexibility. His passion centers on delivering personalized learning environments for all. Blending a focus on strong Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and meaningful connections of assessment and instructional content, Nordmark leads the efforts to develop solutions that empower teachers and students in the relevant use of digital resources.

Prior to netTrekker, Nordmark was instrumental in developing strategic alliances with print publishers, resulting in the rapid development and deployment of reading, language, and phonics software programs. As the VP, Research & Development at Failure Free Reading, he expanded product offerings to support supplementary educational services required by No Child Left Behind. In addition, he illustrated the impact of specific educational solutions, analyzing, documenting, and disseminating reading research from over 80 studies and more than 6300 students.

Nordmark serves as co-chair of the SIIA Education Division's Technical and Development Committee with presentations on English Language Learners: Building Products, Assessments and Market Opportunities (2006) and Maximizing Learning for All Students: Tools and Environments for Differentiation (2009). He is also an active member of the SIIA Education Division's Innovations Working Group, serving as a mentor for Innovation Incubator companies.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Master's degree in Education from Florida Tech. He lives in West Chester, OH with his wife and three children.
